Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that defies usual forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Disclosed
According to the authorized statement, "An unusual confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned practices and monstrous transformations echo through the obscurity." The storyline features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden group.
The mission focuses on "peculiar tests and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with several artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime properties. The series previously showcased a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
